This senior security architecture position is suited to someone who can assess complex technology environments, provide clear technical direction and turn security risks into practical, proportionate solutions.
Role Overview
You will help build security into the technology teams design and delivery.
Working across existing services and new technology initiatives, you will review solution designs, identify security risks and work with technical and business stakeholders to determine appropriate approaches.
The position would suit an experienced security architect with broad technical knowledge, clear communication skills and sound judgement.
Key Areas of the Role
- Review solution designs and recommend appropriate security controls
- Develop security architecture standards and practical guidance for delivery teams
- Identify security risks early and help resolve them
- Guide threat assessments and secure design discussions
- Provide specialist security architecture expertise across technology initiatives
- Communicate architectural risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Improve how security requirements are embedded throughout technology delivery
- Work across technical, security and business teams
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong experience in security architecture within complex enterprise technology environments
- Broad knowledge of infrastructure, application and information security
- Experience assessing security across cloud and traditional IT environments
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective security designs
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and influencing technical direction
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgement
- Ability to explain complex security issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent professional experience
Desirable
- Recognised cybersecurity, architecture or cloud certifications
- Experience within complex or highly governed organisations
- Knowledge of modern identity, access control and Zero Trust approaches
- Experience with established security and risk frameworks
- Ability to balance security requirements with commercial, operational and delivery priorities
